Research partnerships

A shared map so universities and industry work from the same picture.

Our take

Australia excels at generating new ideas but continues to lag in commercialising them.

The research centres we work with were set up to change that. We work across and between public, private and research entities, creating shared infrastructure and practices for systemic innovation.

What we're seeing

Each partner sees a different part of the system: universities, industry sponsors, investors, small firms.

We build one shared picture of it with them, through interviews and iterative system mapping, and keep it live so new information can be added as the work moves. The centre uses it to decide where to focus investment. Partners use it to see where they fit.

How we can help

We help a research centre and its partners work from one picture of the system, and agree where to focus.

That includes a live map of partners, projects, and contracts that the centre keeps up to date, a coalition that acts together, and a direction your people will own.

I have never seen a representation of the evolution of an RD&I eco-system map like this. We can have better conversations with our stakeholders and demonstrate the impact of our work and approach.
